Dnepr
K-650/MT-9
(Ukraine) 1968 to 1974 32 bhp @5200 rpm. Compression ratio
7.0:1. this motorcycle was developed from the Russian Ural.
Very little difference between the K-650 & MT-9 except the
MT-9 usually had a 4-speed and reverse gearbox and the
latter a squarer fuel tank. The K-650 replaced the K-750 and
was sold in the UK by SATRA (Soviet American Trade
Association) as a Cossack 650D.

Dnepr
K-750
(Ukraine) 750cc 28 bhp Side-valve engine. 1960's replacement
of the M-72 as the primary Soviet military motorcycle.
The
K-750 was the first of the 750cc machines built in Kiev
Motor Works (KMZ) Ukraine. It was similar to the Russian IMZ
M-72 (frame, engine, plunger rear suspension etc) except for
a few details: it used short leading link front forks, full
width aluminum hubs as used up to the end of KMZ, different
handle bar levers, black speedometer face and a few other
minor details.

MT-12
(Ukraine) 750cc 28 bhp Side-valve engine. Mid 1970's
and ceased production in 1982.
Sidecar wheel drive is through a split torque differential,
based on the WWII BMW R75 system. Fitted with a 4-speed and
reverse gearbox
with semi-auto clutch.
Mainly for military use in the USSR.
The MT12 was developed from the K750 with the same
telescopic forks as the 650cc Ural and Dnepr models, with
swinging arm rear suspension. The MT12 was the civilian
model with no differential lock, the military version was
the MB750 and used the differential lock, though the MT12
differential can be upgraded (by Joerg Wanke in Germany).

Dnepr
MB650-M1
(Ukraine) 649cc OHV. Used the MT10.36 or Dnepr 11 engine.
Mid 1980's to the closure of the factory in the late 1990's.
This is the military version of the MT16 which has the
2-wheel drive but with a differential lock. The build
quality is reputed to be much better than the civilian
models and had a paint rather than chrome finish.
