Ural M-72 (Russia) Built from 1939 to 1956, 750cc 78mm bore x 78mm stroke side-valve. Manufactured in six Soviet factories including Irbit, Moscow, Kiev & Gorky. Based on the pre-WWII BMW R71. The engine was also fitted to the later Ukrainian Dnepr K-750. Final production of the motorcycle with this engine was in Kiev Motor Works (Ukraine) as the Dnepr MT-12 in 1984.

Ural M-63 (Russia) Early 1970's 649cc 28 bhp @5400 rpm.
The first Ural motorcycle to be exported from behind the 'Iron Curtain' to the UK in small numbers by Fred Wells.
This was also the first Ural to be sold in the UK by SATRA (Soviet American Trade Association) as a Cossack 650

Ural M-66 (Russia) Mid 1970's 32bhp @5400 rpm. The first Ural to be fitted with an external oil filter and still retained the single leading shoe front brake. Used as solo and sidecar motorcycles.

Ural M-67 (Russia) - 1973 to 1976, 649cc 36bhp @ 5800 rpm. 
Top speed 105 kph. Developed from the M-66 that was imported into the UK in relatively large numbers.
The M-67 has a 12 volt alternator, Twin leading shoe front brake, but very few got to the UK. This model makes a good solo and sidecar motorcycle.
